Overview: 4-AcO-DALT is also referred to as 4-Acetoxy-N,N-diallyltryptamine, 4-Acetoxy-DALT, and 3-[2-(Diprop-2-en-1-ylamino) ethyl]-1H-indol-4-yl acetate. It is a psychedelic tryptamine that was first officially identified in seized drug samples in 2012. 4-AcO-DALT is structurally related to the psychedelic drug 4-HO-DALT, which is an analog of psilocin.  As for the effects, recreational users report the 4-AcO-DALT experience as being similar to psilocybin-containing mushrooms (Jebadurai, 2013).

Side Effects & Adverse Reactions:

4-AcO-DALT is a very new substance, and little is known about its side effects, adverse reactions, long term damage, and/or addiction potential. According to Jebadurai (2013), some of the negative effects reported by recreational users include:

  • Facial redness
  • Tachycardia
  • Intense anxiety (as if going to die)
  • Violent vomiting
  • Jaw clenching
  • Chest tightness
  • Joint laxity 

Jebadurai (2013) also reported several psychopathological disturbances associated with 4-AcO-DALT use. These include:

  • Depression
  • Frequent crying
  • Huge release of emotions

Remember, research chemicals are experimental chemicals that are not approved for human consumption. This is because not enough data exists currently about their effects in humans. Although some people are willing to ingest the research chemical 4-AcO-DALT, it is unreasonable to assume that it is in any way safe to use recreationally.
