Overview:
bk-MBDB, also known as butylone and β-keto-N-methylbenzodioxolylpropylamine is an entactogen, psychedelic, and stimulant of the phenethylamine chemical class. It is the β-keto analogue of MBDB.
Butylone was first synthesized by Koeppe, Ludwig, and Zeile in 1967. It remained an obscure product of academia until 2005 when it was synthesized by a chemical supply company. It has since continued to be sold as a research chemical by online vendors. Butylone shares the same relationship to MBDB as Methylone does to MDMA.
The dosage range is not fully understood but seems to be lower than for MBDB.
Side Effects and Adverse Reactions:
bk-MBDB is a research chemical. Research chemicals are experimental chemicals that are not approved for human consumption. This is because not enough data exists currently about their side effects, adverse reactions, long term damage, addiction potential, etc. Although some people are willing to ingest research chemicals, it is not reasonable to assume that they are in any way safe to use recreationally.
