In this video, I focus on the subjective effects of smoking DMT (N,N-dimethyltryptamine).
Mystical and/or Spiritual Insights from Smoking DMT- Earlier this year, I conducted an online survey of recreational DMT users (n=1222) to examine the estimated frequency of mystical and/or spiritual insights associated with the use of smoked or vaporized DMT. 52.9% of respondents reported experiencing spiritual insights during all of their smoked or vaporized DMT experiences. Only 12.4% reported never experiencing mystical and/or spiritual insights.
Fear Driven Experiences/Bad Trips from smoking DMT – In my survey of recreational DMT users (n=1222), I also examined the estimated frequency of bad trips associated with the use of smoked or vaporized DMT. 2.2% of respondents reported experiencing bad trips during all of their smoked or vaporized DMT experiences, while 72.8% of respondents reported never having bad trips on smoked or vaporized DMT. So bad trips do happen and it is a potential negative, but many people never have bad trips.
That said, I’m not suggesting for anyone to use DMT, which is classified as an illegal drug in US. I’m sharing this information for harm reduction and educational purposes only.
