Overview:
The NBOMe series of research chemicals began being prevalent across United States in 2010. Since the dosage ranges within the microgram level, substances within this series of chemicals have been utilized illicitly as a fake LSD (Bunk Police, 2011). Very little is known about the long-term effects, safety profile, and addictive potential of this series of drugs.
A partial list of the NBOMe series:
2C-C-NBOMe
2C-I-NBOMe
2C-D-NBOMe
2C-E-NBOMe
2C-N-NBOMe
2C-G-NBOMe
2CBFly-NBOMe
Most commonly users take the substances sublingually or by snorting them. The effects vary by substance as well as administration route and dosage, with durations lasting as little as four hours with insufflation and as much as eight hours sublingually (Erowid, 2011).
Side Effects and Adverse Reactions:
Paranoia, fear, anxiety reactions, nausea, increased heart rate, chills, and insomnia are some of the negative reactions people are experiencing with a series of substances (Erowid, 2011).
Remember, research chemicals are experimental chemicals that are not approved for human consumption. This is because not enough data exists currently about their side effects, adverse reactions, long term damage, addiction potential, etc. Although some people are willing to ingest research chemicals, it
is not reasonable to assume that they are in any way safe to use
recreationally.
The NeuroSoup Trip Guide - This e-book discusses: Set, Setting, and Preparation for a Trip, Tips for Tripsitters, Aspects of the Entheogenic Experience, Working with Difficult Experiences, and Integration. Adverse psychological reactions, like flashbacks and HPPD, may potentially be avoided with proper preparation before and integration after entheogenic journeys. Thus, this e-book serves the purpose of harm reduction education. For clarity, NeuroSoup does not advocate the use of illegal, quasi-legal, or legal drugs. All substances that affect the central nervous system (legal or illegal) can have side effects, adverse reactions, and negative interactions with other drugs. Abstinence is always the best way to protect one's health.
