Aspects of the Entheogenic Experience: Changes in the Perception of Time
For me it wasn't a slowing down or a speeding up of time, but something completely different, kinda like time travel. I ate 3 grams of heated mushrooms on a pizza, pretty strong ones too.. me and a friend went to the park, once we hit the tree line it was like stepping into a completely different world, and we sat on this bench. The second my ass hit the bench it was like i was reliving another day, a drunk man with a dog walked past, the dog was pulling away from him and barking, excactly like the last time it had happened, then as they went away a man on a bike rode past. It was the strangest feeling ever, it was like dejavu, but it lasted like 5minutes, and i was reliving every detail perfectly, even the things my friend said were exactly the same. The only difference was me, I was seperate from the whole thing.

My experience with salvia is less visual distortion (although there is some of that), but more of a reality distortion. As if my trip were being observed by an invisible audience, of which I was a part of! It is as if I were observing myself in the third person, time and space being turned completely inside out. I am entirely aware of the location and sounds around me, but it is as if they exist in some kind of alternate universe. On subsequent trips, about five, I felt there was an unknown presence around me. On the most recent experience- just before jotting this down- I felt as though I were a part of that presence. Perhaps it was as if my consciousness and body had separated? It is very hard to put into exact words. Actually I believe it's impossible to intelligibly describe. But to those of you who have had experience with the substance, you may know what I mean. The most startling thing about the experience is the speed at which it overtakes you. On every occasion I had barely exhaled my toke when the trip started. In each case the peak was the first five or six minutes, where I was entirely engulfed in this alternate reality. Time seems to have become lost. Right before the most recent trip I put on the track 'Hallogallo' by the '70's kraut rock band Neu! It's a repetitive, motor like number that lasts just over ten minutes. By the end of the trip the song was drawing to a close. I suppose I was aware of the music while I was tripping, but it was as if I were hearing it in a dream. If you're going to have music going during a salvia experience, I recommend something like that. I had the Velvet Underground's 'Sister Ray' playing during an earlier trip and, needless to say, I'll never do that again! Another curious thing is that on my first couple trips I had my wife observe me and she reported that I kept saying, "This is bad, this is bad," a few times. I have no recollection of uttering those words, and she told me I was saying 'bad' as if I were saying "This is awesome!" In other words, using 'bad' in the slang sense. Why I find this puzzling is that I NEVER use that expression at all. Anytime I use the word 'bad' it is always to represent 'not good.' I don't know if this means anything, but it is interesting.
To sum up: I would recommend trying salvia to anyone looking to explore the boundaries of reality. It is definitely not a drug to do for 'kicks', or to party with, as many before me have noted. It should be respected and used as a tool to achieve a new kind of awareness. I'm still trying to get a handle on it myself. It really is the most bizarre substance I have ever encountered.Fortuneteller - Savia D 20x
I took a 250 micrograms LSD paperbit with two friend, who took the same dosage. About 20-30 minuttes before the trip reached its peek, changes in time perception started to happen. The first experience was a fragmented distortion of time. I would experience something, then after a short time the experience would repeat itself. It was like slicing a timesequence into many frames and copy and altering theme at random. If I asked a question, I could answer unisonly with my friend. I did this several times, until it started to freak one of my friends out. I also experienced another friend dropping by, completely identical experience, surprised at our special state of mind twice. This culminated in an "medium strong" egodeath later on. Later, while in the landing phaze, I experienced distortion in timeperception in the sence that it felt like slowing down. I could listen to details in music between beats, the space of the music lasted like it was several seconds. My brain must´ve been working franticly at this point...

The journey took me back to a time that I had an Trauma as a child - I was hit by a car and Was in a coma for I think 30 days- looking back was a unity with the event "it was me" reality unraveled - details still resurface- I am optimistic in many aspects...

I hit a two foot bong.I held it in a looooong time. Until someone said, "BREATHE!" but no smoke came out. An INTENSE pressure sucked me inside my own nose and it was two sundays ahead in the future in my backyard(I was at a friends house for the trip). A "being" or presence kept pulling my shoulder explaing that we had to prepare for something that was happening in a few minutes and that we would be late for something but I couldnt recognize the voice or clearly see the face so I didnt know what they wanted from me. All the while this pressure inside my nose stays, forbidding me to say anything. Then the world sort of bounced back to place, literally my vision saw it as stretching and shrinking back to normal. And I asked my laughing friends, "What? What is it? Why do we need to....?" that sort of stuff. I got really sweaty when I came back to reality but i was still slightly tripping for another ten minutes. Two other friends had negative trips and two had a blast, They were saying, "Lets get some more right now!" while tripping! hilarious.

It at been two weeks before I had a bong session in my friends room with a total of 4 people. My THC tolerance had dissipated with took this trip to a whole new level, it felt like we all took at least 50 tokes in total, as time began slowing down, next thing I new I was in my friends bed shivering uncontrollably. I knew it wasn't cold but I couldn't stop, I felt as if my blood was moving fast through my veins so I put my hand up to my chest and felt that every time i had a wave of shiver, my heart rate would spike unbelievably. I don't know if this was the weed, or it was just in my head. I left the what seemed like freezing bed and crawled through the extremely hot boxed room to a pile of covers in front of the door, I found my self coming out of my mind, and coming back in, hearing people talk and laugh and going back out hearing nothing and seeing myself move around this smoky room unable to control my movements until I come back into reality. I ended up sitting on the dark staircase in front of the room eating a whole orange, skin and all. that was a night I would never forget.

I have only tried acid once, but it was a good, strange day, one that I know I'll never forget. I took one tab, then the second about an hour later. The trip really took off when I was sitting with my friends outside. We were just talking, laughing, smoking, and I decided to check the time. It was 7:30. Woah. 7:30? What does that even mean? It was then that I realized that acid is more than just "tripping balls." LSD is an experience in which the way you view life gets turned completely upside down. You view it from a new angle. Time almost didn't exist that day. It did, but in a different way. I experienced each moment in its entirety.

Around two hours after taking a large dose of MDMA (approx. 500mg) and 6 Baby Hawaiian Woodrose Seeds, I experienced the strangest and to date most intense sensation of time distortion I have ever felt.
I use the word distortion for I feel that dilation would not be accurate. While dilation suggests a lengthening of time, this experience involved becoming caught in a 'tide' or loop of time. I would experience a period of time at a normal rate, but at one point would be suddenly pulled back to the start of said time period where I would experience it all again.
The strangest and most profound aspect of this experience was the fact that although time was definitely looping, real world event proceeded in their usual order and I could see that their effects were as would be expected in the 'regular' time flow.
Although this experience was very frightening (I believed I would never be able to escape from the loop) my experience with psychadelics has taught me to embrace and never to resist such events so I tried to explore the situation and try to work out what was going on.
My conclusion amounted to an analogy of a rip tide in the ocean. While the ocean as a whole progressed as normal, a small area was subject to a very localized and vigorous distortion. From here I was able to realize that I was the only one effected and that noone else was aware of the 'problem'.
Eventually I was released naturally from the loop and went quietly to a darkened room to think it through and consider what had happened. The lesson I learned from the experience was a profound one. It made me realize the extent to which 'time' as we think of it, is a product of our brain and experience and is probably completely separate from the scientific concept of time, and although there is no doubt a physical plane along which event precede and supercede each other, the human interpretation of this is at best illustrative and in no way accurate. It really shook up the way I think about the concepts of time and space.
I have been unable to clarify this idea further in my mind however it was a powerful lesson which I think will one day make more sense to me. Although it was a frightening experience, I am very glad I had it.JCJC - MDMA and LSA
My friend and I were tripping for 5 days in a matter of 4 hours.
Midget - LSD
On my second time trying LSD I decided to try smoking marijuana along with it to increase the effects, which it worked very well in sort of "distorting" the LSD experience and letting me step into a whole new part of this wonderful entheogen. I took about 3-4 hits total of the marijuana 5 hours into the LSD trip, the LSD was still running very strong and many psychadelic patterns were overlaying my vision along with everything around me breathing and floating along with me, a sort of wonderland experience. About 30 minutes after I smoked the grass, I started to feel a sensation as if I was separating or "dissociating" from the world around me and time started to slow down and speed up very slightly until I was around 15 seconds behind time. I felt as if everything I was doing and saying, as well as anything everyone else was doing/saying, was predetermined and I felt that I knew what was going to happen just a few seconds before it actually happened. Time kept going further and further until I was approximately 45 seconds 'behind' time. It was fairly insane and I found myself saying out loud to my friends what was going on though what came out wasn't what I meant to say so they didn't catch what I meant but its ok. The whole time dilation experience lasted about 30 minutes to an hour (time was distorted so I'm not exactly sure how long) and the whole time I couldn't decide if I was ahead of time or if I was just behind time and everything around me was just 'lagging' if you will, but the brain waves saying when something was going on would be sent on time.

I was 200 years late for work. Consequently I began to view my job in a larger context.

The ingredients: 200 F. dry heat, low light, low sound, lying down;Breathe slowly, eyes closed,no talking, no moving.(use damp washcloth near nose to breathe through and for your toenails which do not sweat and can get hot) Relax for 15min.(?)(until you can't relax and plunging into cold water seems attractive)Immediately plunge into cool/cold water that you can float in,take a couple of deep breaths, hold your breath, close your eyes and relax.Your heart beat will at first be fast, but will soon slow down dramatically .(Thats the "mammalian diving response",left over from distant evolutionary forebears.)If you are comfortable in water and with holding breath , time dilation will rapidly occur. Scary! Because underwater you can hear your slow heartbeat, and with time dilation it seems to stop almost. The apparent time between heart beats begins to seem impossible.(fear, but relax) That along with other effects such as extreme peace, space expansion, and euphoria, probably result from the weightlessness, shock, and silence of the cold water. Lying down outdoors(eyes closed) afterwards to savor those feelings is wonderful. Two -4 of these hot-cold-rest repetitions are possible. And the good aftereffects last for several days. I've taken hundreds of these extreme sweat baths.
